Acreage properties are limited within the Metro area due to State Use planning, requiring more density and less farm land cut up into mini estates. There are; however, housing pockets in the area that have 1-5 acres and also a few developments with homes on 1-2 acres. Due to high land values, these properties usually start around $950,000 and up.
Northwest Skyline is an area that runs all along Skyline Blvd. in the NW Hills. The eastside boundary runs along Forest Park. As Skyline connects with Cornelius Pass Road; which leads into Hillsboro, there are areas with 1-2 acre estates along the way.

Cyclists love this area and on week-ends you really need to be watchful of cyclists and hikers. Some of the developments are close to Forest Park and thus quite lush and full of trees, while other developments along the ridge of the hills are more open.

Oregon City has an area called "Beavercreek", which probably has the most land available in the Metro area for new construction and planned acreage communities. The rural areas around Oregon City to the south and east still have the look and feel of the farming era with picturesque farms and homes along the roadside. The area is also closer to Mt. Hood and thus has more tall fir and Douglas trees.
